Long shadows on the Royal Mile

While waiting for dinner to be cooked one evening I took my Olympus OM-D EM 10 II out for a walk,

THe sun was setting down the Royal Mile and I shot this guy strutting along

Out for a smoke

While staying in Edinburgh I popped out to find some dinner. I wandered around the royal mile while waiting for it to be cooked.

This guy was very animated while she just stood there like an old oak tree weathering the storm of his tirade. No one else paid them any heed.

William on the shores of Loch Ard

We spent the last few days of September travelling to Scotland for a family wedding.
The 30 hour flight is tough with two kids under three! But it was worth it for the family to see the boys and William got to wear a Kilt to match his Uncle Aaron.

Monday in Matakana

I took a Monday off this month so I could go out with my wife (using daycare to the max)

We headed half an hour up the road to Matakana to have lunch at Ascension Wine Estate

Rachel enjoyed the Lamb Belly with a glass of the Ascension Pinotage

While I devoured the Duck duo... a confit duck leg and duck breast... so good!!! oh I also had a glass of the Pinotage... then we bought a bottle :)

This red Tractor is pretty cool too... didn't taste as good though.

Autumn at Wenderholm

The Adventures of Dick and WIlly took us to Wenderholm Regional Park.
This ancient Maori home is just ten minutes up the road and has a great walks through native bush. There are plenty of native birds to see and a great beach. Check out this brochure for more history and walks.

This track allows the council to drive in to the bush to maintain the park:

Driving in to Wenderholm, you cant miss the sentinels on the right. With the weather finally cooling down they are dropping their leaves in abundance.

William enjoyed crunching through the leaves... until there were so many he got stuck

The view over Waiwera to the Peninsula

The Puhoi River. Wenderholm forms the mouth to this picturesque river.
