Our little monkey goes to the Zoo

Work recently put on a Family Christmas party at the Auckland Zoo. They organised lots of good food and entertainment
.
We took our 6 month old boy along to show him the animals... and show him off to work mates.

Our little guy really loves monkeys so that's where we headed first:

Bee ready for your close-up

I was out in the back yard testing my new 100mm Macro lens when then bee got in the way. The Pohutukawa are just starting to flower so the bees were making the most of it with me.

All the better to SEE you with

Our British Shorthair, Chesh, doesn't usually pose so I was lucky to snap his Cheshire Grin.

A Misty Morning over Waiwera

I was too lazy to get up before sunrise so as the sun was cresting the hill before Waiwera as I sped down to check out the mist in the valley and out over the beach.

While standing on the edge of the motorway I stood in the mist as it flowed out to sea

Riverside at Matakana

I got to stay at Riverside Matakana last week. It's a great spot to stay just before the Matakana village.

It is so quiet and peaceful out there with some great rural views!

Below the sun rises over as the mist sits in the valley. I was nice and cosy next to the fire.

Hatfield's Sunset

A few days ago I got home in time to head down to Hatfield's Beach and capture the sunset.
Because Hatfield's is an east coast beach there is no actual sun setting, but the colours were great.

Puhoi Pub

On Saturday we decided to drive up the road a little bit to try lunch at the 150 year old Puhoi Pub.

For about $12 I got an amazing works burger that filled me up until lunch the next day.

Their own beer was really good too!!

The interior of the pub is covered in memorabilia, including pictures with Billy Connelly, a drivers licence from Oregon and a door covered in bra's. They also show off the history of Puhoi with old farming tools. I almost caught my bum on a huge saw.

Original Gangsters

We had just had a great lunch at Kyo-Ya in Takapuna. While roaming the mean streets of Takapuna, we saw these two little old guys having a good chat while they strolled down Hurstmere road.

Kite Surfing - Orewa

I took these a while ago when the wind was up at Orewa on Auckland Hibiscus Coast.

The beach was full of Kite surfers taking advantage of some great wind!

Perth Visit - September 2013

Lunch at Jamie Oliver's Italian Restaurant was great!!! The food was impeccable and the service was great too. The best thing is it's all reasonably priced too.

My wife had a Rabbit Ragou and I had a Tuna Fusilli. For an entree the pumpkin nachos were great!

While waiting around for wedding stuff, we headed up to a popular beach (I forget where it was) We just dipped our toes in while my wife's cousin and brother went body boarding.

Top 10 Holiday Park

We recently visited friends in Dargaville, up north. We stayed at their place that has this awesome river run round it.

Nestled in a little valley, it's a great base to explore the Kauri forest and visit Tane Mahuta. They also take guided walks at night to see Kiwis!

Looking down on Tokyo

Back when we were in Tokyo, we visited the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office to get some great views of the Tokyo skyline. This is one of the shots.

I posted some night shots from the same building here:
