Telluride Cross Country

Telluride. Cross country skiing in Colorado.

We were staying with my Aunt and Uncle at Montrose and they drove us up the back of Telluride for a couple of hours of cross country skiing. It was amasing! It was so warm I took off my jacket, helmet and gloves and skiied in a t-shirt.

Going down was fun, a slow slide downa gentle hill to an old rail bridge.

The shuffle up the hill was slightly more work.

A Mexican Taniwha. I dont know what the Mexican name for this mythological monster thing is so I used the Maori term :)

This was one of the winners at the Breckenridge snow sculpting competition earlier this year.

I've just been going through all our Honeymoon photos seeing if I missed any. I have so many its a bit daunting.

Introducing Chesh!

Introducing Chesh. He's our new kitten.

This lil guy is just 13 weeks old. Being a British Short hair we decided on the name after the Cheshire cat of Alice in Wonderland fame.

Thats not the Tardis!

An old phone booth all by its lonesome up at Telluride in Colorado.

Down in town I saw one of the local children dressed in some kind of 'traditional garb'...

The lil town is nestled in the valley and has some great architecture and the gondola take you up the mountain to a swanky resort town.
Here is a view from the Gondola down over the town. I love the style of the buildings, it really looks like a model village from a history book.

Birds eye view...

On our evening wander Rachel was feeding the ducks. They all decided to follow her like she was some kind of messiah leading them to a new and fertile land... okay maybe it wasn't that epic but heres what it looked like from the ducks point of view.

Denver Museum

An actual T-rex head... sans flesh and gooey bits

Bronze wolves! I slipped on the ice trying to get away!

Monkeys... in Africa? ok no its Denver and these are taxidermies

We saw a cheetah too! I bet its hungry, it never moved and those deer aren't even going anywhere.

Dinner with Judy and Erin at Pasta Jay's. My cousin Jay couldn't make it though due to mid-terms.

A stunning Colorado sunset
